Clients fly in from Darwin and across the Northern Territory for full-day realism with Dylan in Port Kembla. Here’s how to plan the trip, from the flight to the drive south.

Flying in
From Darwin to Port Kembla.
Fly from Darwin Airport into Sydney Airport. Some flights run overnight and land early in the morning, so take a day to rest before your session. From Sydney Airport it’s about 75 minutes by car to Port Kembla. Without a car, take the airport line to Wolli Creek and change to a South Coast Line train, or arrange a transfer.
Wait until your dates are confirmed and your deposit is paid before you book flights.
Time zone
Plan around the clock.
The Northern Territory doesn’t use daylight saving. From October to early April, while New South Wales is on daylight saving, Port Kembla is an hour and a half ahead of Darwin, and half an hour ahead the rest of the year.
Planning the trip
A trip that works.
Day one: fly into Sydney and drive south.
Day two: a rest day, especially after an overnight flight.
Day three: your session.
Day four: a second session for large pieces, if Dylan can book it, or fly home.
Heading home
Flying with a fresh tattoo.
Flying home after a session is usually fine. Wear loose clothing, keep the tattoo clean and covered as instructed, and avoid long periods pressing on it. Aftercare comes by email, with a check-in after a week and a healed-photo request at around eight weeks.
Back home in the tropics, keep the healing tattoo out of the sun and heat as much as you can, and don’t swim until it’s fully healed.
Clients from the Northern Territory
Work for clients from the Northern Territory.
[Dylan: a piece or two done for clients from Darwin or the Northern Territory.]
Sometimes, for large pieces, working on different areas so the skin isn’t overworked. Mention your travel dates in your application and Dylan will tell you what’s realistic.
