Flying in
From Adelaide to Port Kembla.
Fly from Adelaide Airport into Sydney Airport. There are direct flights through the day. From Sydney Airport it’s about 75 minutes by car to Port Kembla. Without a car, take the airport line to Wolli Creek and change to a South Coast Line train, or arrange a transfer.
Wait until your dates are confirmed and your deposit is paid before you book flights.
Time zone
Plan around the clock.
South Australia is always half an hour behind New South Wales, in summer and in winter, so a morning session feels half an hour earlier.
Planning the trip
A trip that works.
Day one: fly into Sydney and drive south.
Day two: your session.
Day three: rest, or fly home.
For large pieces, ask about two sessions close together on one trip.
Heading home
Flying with a fresh tattoo.
Flying home after a session is usually fine. Wear loose clothing, keep the tattoo clean and covered as instructed, and avoid long periods pressing on it. Aftercare comes by email, with a check-in after a week and a healed-photo request at around eight weeks.
Clients from South Australia
Work for clients from South Australia.
[Dylan: a piece or two done for clients from Adelaide or South Australia.]
Sometimes, for large pieces, working on different areas so the skin isn’t overworked. Mention your travel dates in your application and Dylan will tell you what’s realistic.
