1. Join the waitlist
Books open a few times a year, usually [months]. The waitlist gets one email before anything goes on Instagram, so it’s the best way to get a spot. Pick the kinds of work you’re interested in so Dylan knows what you’re after.
2. Apply with your idea
When books open, the application takes about five minutes. It asks for:
- The piece: new, continuing or cover-up, the subject, black and grey or colour, rough size and a few lines about your idea.
- Placement and references: where it goes and up to six reference photos. Photos of the actual animal, place or person are more useful than other people’s tattoos.
- Availability and contact: the days you can do and where you’re travelling from.
A brief is enough. Dylan designs every piece himself, so you don’t need a finished drawing.
3. Approval and deposit
Dylan reads every application himself. If it’s a good fit, you’ll get an email with a date and a secure link to pay the deposit of [$300] per day booked. Your date is locked in once the deposit is paid. If it isn’t the right fit, you’ll still get a reply.
4. Your day
A few days before, you’ll get prep notes: sleep well, eat a proper breakfast, stay hydrated and avoid alcohol the night before. Dylan finalises the design on the day with you, then it’s a full day in the chair with breaks. Aftercare instructions come by email, then a check-in after a week and a request for a healed photo at around eight weeks.
Only through this site
Dylan only takes bookings through this page and deposit links only come from [bookings@ address]. He will never ask for payment by DM. If a message looks off, check this page or contact the studio directly.
